Kadhua (also known as Kadwa or Kadhwa) is an ancient intricate technique of hand-weaving where each motif is woven separately with the help of two weavers. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it's called in Banaras. The finest and most exquisite workmanship can be seen in this technique.
